Had the chance to see some great shows this week/weekend.
Wednesday night at Casa Del Popollo was Share, Lost in the Trees, and amazing talanted singer Conor O'Brien of Villagers.
Share apparently changes their performers often when playing live shows giving it an exciting new sound each time. I am very excited to check out their duo sound of Coco et Co!
Lost in Trees performance was...wow! Think Arcade Fire meets classical orchestra. Each member, extremely talented playing more than one instrument (accordian, violin, cello, tuba, bass, etc...) adding a classical turn to an indie sound.
Conor J. O'Brien's acoustic sounds was both eerie and entrancing. The Irish native came to Montreal sans band and still managed to blow the crowd away!

Friday night consisted of Zola Jesus, Warpaint and The XX.
All three bands amazing in their own way. The gothic-rock sound of Zola Jesus, the girl punkrock band of Warpaint and the 90's electronic and mellow sound of The XX made for an incredible experience.

ode to sweets :)
Last night, went to a friends place and because we didn't know what to have for dinner, we settled on popcorn, nachos and chocolate. A nice, balanced dinner!
Here is my ode to all that is bad for your insides, yet great for your taste buds

Goodbye Lil Peanut
Last night, after getting home from work, my baby girl Mika passed away in my lap. I miss her terribly, though I am happy to know she is running in green fields eating all the almonds, bananas and avocados she can!
Let's recap a beautiful photoshoot I did with her.

Fall 2010: the perfect sweater
So...it is fall and to those of us who love fashion, it is the best time of year! My main challenge of course is resisting all these temptations that we call clothing. I particularly have a weakness for sweaters and can always seem to justify purchasing these, especially thinking ahead to the chilling winters in Montréal.
I was browsing online, and in the stores and came across a few items in which I would love to add to my own closet. My favourite sweaters happen to be the ones with the cool, retro designs, and I am absolutely loving the animal knits.
Enjoy some of my finds :)

Check out this unbelievable hotel which literally appears as a stack of houses. This can be found in Zaandam, the Netherlands. I would love to see what the inside looks like. Not yet ready, but opening this fall. Check out more about WAM architecture at http://www.wam-architecten.nl/site/index.php

sunday morning walk around
The past weekend was a sidewalk event on St Laurent between Sherbrooke and Mont Royal. My friend and I decided to take a walk down the street, through Chinatown to Old Montreal and then back up for a drink on a terrace. The weather was perfect, maybe a touch too hot, but otherwise a great day to be walking and shooting (and eating ice cream which of course we did!)
Here are a few images I happened to snap and a couple I played with to add a certain je ne sais pas!
I also brought my analog camera with some lomography film. Of course, it will take time for me to both finish the roll, and get it developed. Those images will make an appearance later on :)

People Tree
Most people don't think fair trade clothing can be stylish, and if it is, it will be crazy expensive. People Tree prove this to be quite wrong. Yes, you will have to pay more, but it is worth it.
Tree People is in the UK and unfortunately they do not ship to North America. But there are stores, such as ASOS in the UK, where they do ship to Canada, and they do sell some of People Tree's clothing.
